ANNUAL REPORT OF THE YEAR 2023-2024

Count on our blessings as to make our journey more beautiful and lively.   When you focus on being a blessing God makes sure that you are always blessed in abundance.  As we are on our traverse its that spirit that is leading us to etch our destiny to bestow the laurels.

CBSE Examination results of 2023 proved once again the determination and the staunch desire of our younger ones to pen down their success story here in the columns of Carmel’s Glory.

Honouring the Achievers:

 A Ceremony specifically focused on acknowledging students for their outstanding merits was organised in the valuable presence of Shri. P O Varghese, Fire and Safety Rescue Officer, Nattika.

Staff:

The most valuable resource that any school can have, is its staff.

The school collectively have an enthusiastic and dedicated team of  Teachers in the Senior Secondary, Secondary, the Primary and the Pre-Primary sections. In addition, we have Non-Teaching and Support staff. Their coordination with each other is what enables the school to function smoothly and grow with new perspectives.

Infrastructure:

Schools all round infrastructure triggered robustic change during the academic year 2023.

  • CCTV Surveillance Camera has been installed covering almost the entire school premises.
  • A connecting bridge has been built in between the main block and the new block.
  • Sports accessories and equipment’s  has been updated.
  • Solar Panels were installed in two floors of the Main Block

 

Teachers In-service Training & Workshops:

Our school always aims at the best to be given to update the potentials of our dedicated faculties.  To equip with the latest pedagogical skills will definitely lead to the physical and emotional development of our younger ones. Workshops and Seminars encourage new ideas and facilitate innovation, experimentation, knowledge, skills and personality development.

Student Enrichment Programme / Competitions

Academic year 2023, we introduced extra curricular ativities like Skating, Zumba, martial arts apart from our regular karate and Yoga classes.

Football Camp was introduced in this academic year to boost the athletic spirit of our students.

Our students secured prizes in Talent search examination conducted by Vidya Academy Thalakkottukara.

Our School secured First prize in Deepika Colouring competition .

School Youth Festival was conducted where students showcased their talents in both off stage and on stage items.

KG Section organized Fashion Show and Traditional Food Fest for their tiny tots.

Thrissur Sahodaya kalotsav started from November 2nd to November 4th 88 students participated in various events.

Srinidhi Srinivasan secured first prize with A grade in English Recitation from category 2

Adwaith Krishna secured second prize with A grade in

Abhinav Sreyas secured first prize with A grade in Pencil Drawing and 2nd prize with A grade in Water colour from category 4

He also bagged the first prize in Deepika Painting Colouring Competition Thrissur District Level.

Our school bagged the overall championship in the Karate Competition held at St. Joseph College Irinjalakuda

Darsh K S of Class VII B won the Champion position in the 4th UCMAS Kerala state level Abacus & Mental Arithmetic online competition.

Diya C S of VI B secured various gold medals on aquatic swimming championship in District and state level.

Arjun Pradeep of IX A secured second rank in JCI National Talent Search.

Angello Linto of Class IV C secured the 1st prize in KATA and 2nd prize in Kumite in the ISKA 10th International Karate Championship 2023 held in Srilanka on 18th November 2023.

 

 

 

Parent-Teacher Association:

PTA  facilitates the active involvement of parents and teachers in the day to day activities of the school.  Newly elected PTA Executives were officiated. Immense support of PTA smoothens the functions of our school activities in its best and apt manner.

 The PTA general body meeting is an occasion to acknowledge their service to the school. Open house meetings are set apart for parent- teacher interaction in which parents are getting a chance for interacting with teacher’s  to discuss regarding their wards academic performance.

Parent Enrichment programme

 An awareness class for parents were conducted by Smt. Laisa Paul, renowned social worker. The session was very interactive and it ignited the minds of parents. 

 

Teachers Achievememts

Ms. Prajitha Prageesh our dance teacher won the first prize in Thrissur Sahodaya Folk Dance with A grade.

Ms. Sreeja C S our Co-ordinator bagged the third prize in Thrissur Sahodaya Extempore English with a Grade.

Mr. Babu kottoli , our Karate instructor is the one who was behind the success of Master. Angello Linto for bagging first prize in  International Karate Champonship.

 

Important Celebrations:

Our School not only focuses upon the intellectual development of our future generation, but also takes care of their emotional and behavioural development in their early ages of development by inculcating sound moral values, responsibility and social awareness. Children will only cherish  important days if they are equipped with occasions significantly. We try to make them aware of these days in a creative and interactive way.

Let’s have a glimpse  over the Annual school programs:

  1. Re-opening- ‘Refreshing and revitalizing are obligatory to opt for finest yield’.

Our shrine of wisdom made a right click to refresh and shine for the future days We summoned the blessings of the Lord to begin our scholastic year 2023 – 2024 by means of heartening prayers and seeked the guidance of the Almighty. The day also recorded with cheerful welcome to , our new principal Dr. Sr. Magie Jose, our new vice principal Sr. Humbeline and also to our newly recruited staff and the freshers.

  1. World Environment Day was observed in the school for making the importance of the healthy and green environment. Sapling was also planted in the presence of Principal, students and teachers. Notice board competition was also conducted.
  2. Reading Week, International, Yoga Day and Music Day were observed. The guest of honour for the day was Rev. Fr. Joshi Kannukaran. One book and one pen were collected from the students and handed over to the students to the Thanal Organisation. Mr. Sanjay, member of Thanal Organisation enlightened the students with speech.
  3. Carmel Day Celebration - Our lady of Mount Carmel is the patroness of our Carmel family and the feast of our Lady was celebrated on July 16th in an elaborate manner.. Our chief guest vicar Fr. Rijoy Parayattil graced the day with an enlightening message for the students. Procession was also conducted in the school campus with prayers and reciting rosary all through. The day also witnessed cultural programmes by students like dance, song, skit and tableau based on the mysteries of the rosary.
  4. Investiture Ceremony was held  and the elected School Parliament members took the charge of various school activities. The guest of the day Asst. Prof. Ms. Stephy Francis, Dept. Head of MSW St. Mary’s College, Thrissur inaugurated the House Groups and the House Captains took charge of each houses.
  5. Onam the festival of happiness, peace and prosperity was celebrated with great zeal by the students and teachers on September 1st. The celebrations started with setting up an attractive pookalam by the students which turned out to be mesmerizing and took everyone into a world of festivity and fun. The main attractions of the programme were skits, speech, group dance, uriyadi, vadam vali and Thiruvathira kali by teachers. The arrival of mahabali amidst the beats of panchavadyam was well received by the audience. Amidst cheers of happiness and excitement, children learnt the importance of these special days and imbibed in them pride, cultural oneness and a sense of belonging that we are one big family.
  6. Principal’s Feast - The school celebrated Principals feast day on October 16th  with colourful programmes by our vibrant students. Followed by the staff prayer, a surprise was in store by the staff members as a token of their love towards the Principal. The whole school was filled with an aroma of angelic music and decoration expressing love and honour to the Principal. 
  7. Rosary procession was conducted on October 31st as a part of that all the classes were beautifully decorated and all the catholic students from class 3rd to 12th participated in the procession with pluck cards, rosary and chanting prayers through the whole school will be a blessing for their life ahead.
  8. Children’s day was celebrated with great enthusiasm to honour our first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.Food Bonanaza were arranged and children’s enthusiastically  involved in all the stalls with vigour.

Co-Curricular Activities:

“The essence of education is to help you discover your uniqueness and Young children learn best through exploration”.

Various Co-Curricular Activities are held to ensure the all-round physical, moral, social and mental development of a child and to hone his skills in co-scholastic areas.

A host of co-curricular activities were organized during the year. This year the school participated in various inter school activities which was conducted in and out of the school campus in which the children experienced in learning the art of public speaking, body language depiction and the art of Self Expression.

Few such co-curricular activities are listed as follows:

 

1. Mental Skill Development:

         In the MTSE Scholarship Exam Srinidhi Srinivasan from VI D  bagged the 
         first prize.

Physical Development:

Our Sports meet was organized at Valapad ground which was inaugurated by Fr. Roy of Christ College inaugurated the Sports Meet 2023. Ms.Ancy Sojan , Asian Games Long Jump Silver Medalist and the Jewel of Nattika Panchayath was honoured in this occasion. March past competition of 4 houses captured the attention of viewers. Students got the opportunity to participate in various events and won medals, thereby displaying their sportsman spirit.

KG and the LP section also organized the sports events for their students in the school ground.

Observed Neeraj Chopra Day and conducted Kids Javeline and Knee throw events for STD I to VI

Imparting Moral Value:

Value Education: Our moral education and catechism classes form the comer stone of blue education in our school. The tradition of Holy mass and confession has been maintained in its pure spirit .  Besides these theoretical inputs we try to inculcate in our dents values for life through Nalla Padom Program.

Togetherness for Thrissur: - We carmalites joined the Together for Thrissur Event and conducted a program to distribute our collected provisions as a contribution to 15 families of Nattika and Talikulam Panchayath.  The event was graced with the presence of Sri M. R Dinesan, President of Nattika Panchayath, Smt. P I Sajitha, President of Talikalam Panchayath and Smt. Rajini Babu, Vice President Nattika Grama Panchayath.

 

Food Bonanza – A charity initiative by the Nalla Padom team of the school with an intension to give a chance for enjoying the essence of sharing.

Adieu 

Our retiring staff Ms.Theresa M J of English Department ( 28 years of service) and Ms.Philomina M V of Mathematics Department (10 years of service) and Ms. Sajini V A (18 years of service) our supporting staff is retiring after their long, dedicated and passionate profession. Their valuable commitments profoundly cherished in our hearts and minds.  We wish you the very best in the years ahead. Appraising and acknowledging their valuable service for this prestigious institution and wishing them peaceful and contented retirement life.

 

 CONCLUSION AND THANKS

With all my love and affection, I salute our Patroness, Lady of Mount Carmel and let me conclude my words with heartfelt gratitude to all our stakeholders for their whole hearted support for bringing up the very best of us to illuminate each moment of our academic traverse. We humbly salute all our visionary leaders of yester years and the great ones of today and seek divine grace and blessings from the God almighty to guide us in our forthcoming journey.  I hope you all will enjoy our cultural feast , with your wholehearted support.
