The small beginning of Carmel Central School dates back to 1993 Sept. 6th by starting K G as a response to the request of the people to start English medium school.   It is run by Carmel Educational and Charitable Trust , Thrissur.   The school has KG and STD 1 to XII functioning as per syllabus stipulated by CBSE New Delhi. 

The first Principal was Sr. Little Rose.   In the year 2001, we received NOC and affiliation for middle class, in 2003 for Secondary school and in 2005 for Higher Secondary school.   In academic excellence since the beginning in 2004-05 to 2009-10 for Xth std we have 100% and for XII from 2006-10, 100% with the exception of 2009-2010.

Now we have 1561 students from KG to XII, 66 teaching staff and 13 non teaching. The infrastructure includes 4 storied building with 56 class-rooms 5 Laboratories (Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Maths & Computer), library, Seminar hall, auditorium, activity room, Sports room, Digital class rooms, SUPW room, basket ball court, and grotto of Our Lady being our patroness.

The school activities other than curriculum includes abacus class, E-learning, dance, music, Instrumental music, karate, drawing, chess, sports, Quiz, Sex education, regular counseling, outreach programmes , excursion for staff and students, youth festival, participation in inter school competitions, spiritual empowerment programmes for staff and students and celebrations(Onam, X mas, Carmel day etc)

Under the able leadership of Dr. Sr. Marriette A Therattil,  the Principal, Sr. Sumana as Manager, in the co-operation of PTA, with a team of dedicated staff, we are making progress towards our dream of giving formation to the young minds of future citizens.
